Walk into your next audition with new skills and confidence after a two-day audition workshop with Constructivists Associate Artist Laura Sturm.
The Constructivists are excited to offer a two-day audition workshop with Associate Artist Laura Sturm. The classes will be offered over the Sundays of April 8th and 15th at The Underground Collaborative, and will give local actors the opportunity to work with a professional actor, director, teacher, and movement and acting coach with over 20 years of experience in Chicago. But instead of you having to go to Chicago to learn from Laura, we are bringing Laura to you!
Details:
SUNDAY, APRIL 8TH, 10:30-1:30: MONOLOGUE SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE
Laura will coach students on adding variety and specificity to a monologue you’ve already been working on. Plus, learn some tricks to find, select and put together a great monologue that you love. Yes, love. We know that actors don’t always associate that word with audition monologues, but it is essential to audition success, and Laura can help you with that!
SUNDAY, APRIL 15TH, 10:30 - 1:30: COLD READINGS
Laura will cover with actors the tools needed to be successful with a cold reading audition, and leave you with a step-by-step, organized process to follow for each audition. Additionally, she’ll go over tips and tricks to make it interesting and fun for both you and the auditioners.
To Reserve a Spot
Please email your headshot and resume to casting@theconstructivists.org. The class is $100 for the two days, and students are reserved on a first come, first served basis. There is a limit of 10 students in order to give each student the attention they deserve.
