THE CONSTRUCTIVISTS TO STAGE "THE PILLOWMAN" FOR THE 15th ANNIVERSARY OF ITS WORLD PREMIERE AND PRODUCE THE MIDWEST PREMIERE OF A NEW PLAY FOR ITS INAUGURAL SEASON
May 9, 2018 – (Milwaukee) The Constructivists, a new Milwaukee Non-Equity Professional Theater Company, are proud to announce their inaugural season will open with "The Pillowman" by Martin McDonagh, which will close just days shy of the 15th Anniversary of its World Premiere. The 2018-19 Season will then conclude with the Midwest Premiere of "To Fall in Love with Anyone, Do This," by Jennifer Lane. Artistic Director Jaimelyn Gray will direct both productions and will mark a yearlong residency at The Underground Collaborative, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Dates and Production Information
The Pillowman, by Martin McDonagh
Directed by Jaimelyn Gray
The blackest of dark comedies, "The Pillowman" is a stunner of a play surrounding two siblings, Katurian and Michal, who are being held in prison under suspicion that the former may have murdered three small children in a way that eerily reflects tales he has written. McDonagh does not hold back on the horror as two hardened, and potentially violent, detectives of an unnamed totalitarian state attempt to get to the bottom of the crimes.

To Fall in Love with Anyone, Do This, by Jennifer Lane
A Midwest Premiere
Directed by Jaimelyn Gray
More than 20 years ago, the psychologist Arthur Aron watched as two strangers, sitting directly across from each other, fell in love in his laboratory as they asked each other a series of 36 questions he had prepared. Six months later, the two participants were married and invited the entire lab to the ceremony. In "To Fall in Love with Anyone, Do This," a couple, Merryn and Wyatt, on the verge of ending their marriage, meet in Wyatt's apartment and use the questions in hopes of reconnecting and a starting a new phase of their relationship.
